Where to stay

Many patients stay in a guest house or a serviced apartment near the hospital. Some hospitals have rooms for attendants.

How to choose

  • Stay close to the hospital. You may need to go there often.
  • Ask the hospital desk for a list of places that other patients use.
  • Check that the place has a lift if the patient cannot use stairs.
  • Check what the price includes: meals, laundry and transport.

Protect yourself

  • Pay the place to stay directly. Ask for a receipt.
  • Do not pay a large amount in advance to a person you do not know.
  • Keep your passport safe. Give a copy, not the original, when asked.
