What it is

An attendant is a person who travels with the patient to give care and support. Up to two attendants can travel on e-Medical Attendant visas. Their visas have the same validity as the patient's visa.

Who to choose

  • Choose a person who can stay for the full treatment.
  • Choose a person who can help with forms, money and daily care.
  • For a transplant, the donor usually needs a separate visa. Ask the hospital.

What the attendant needs

  1. A valid passport.
  2. The patient's e-Medical visa details.
  3. The hospital letter, which names the attendant if possible.

Costs to plan for

The attendant pays for flights, a visa, food and a place to stay. Add these to your budget before you travel.

Rules change. Check the official portal before you apply.
